I wrote this article to help you remove Yow Winner Prize Virus. This Yow Winner Prize Virus removal guide works for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Browser hijackers are annoying malicious parasites that prevent users from having a normal browsing experience. The Yow Winner Prize webpage is a symptom of such infection. If you constantly get redirected to this page, you are in trouble. Hijackers are known to alter your browser settings and even install shady toolbars and extensions without your knowledge or consent. What’s more, victims of this malware will notice that their homepage, new tabs pages and search provider are replaced with that same bogus site called Yow Winner Prize. That’s not all.
What browser hijackers are mostly known for are their ability to turn your browser into an ad-displaying tool. No matter what site you are visiting, you’ll get attacked by numerous ads in the pop-up, in-text or banner form. Because hijackers can obtain the web history and habits of the victim, along with their search queries, this malicious parasite will be able to generate a specific kind of advertisements that the user is most likely to click on. The main goal is to create PPC (Pay-Per-Click) revenue.
Users can get a browser hijacker infection without even realizing it. Hijackers are incredibly sneaky parasites. The most common means of distribution are fake update requests and free software bundles. Hijackers can also get spread via spam emails and attachments, rogue apps, dubious links and adverts, corrupt torrent files, etc. We recommend our readers to use only reliable and licensed sources when they update their software. Don’t blindly trust a random pop-up that wants you to click on a suspicious link, in order to update a program on your computer. More often than not, such update pop-ups turn out to be fake.
Also, when downloading software from the internet, it is always best to select Custom or Advanced mode in the Setup Wizard. This way you can have full control over the installation process and can easily view the full contents of a software bundle. Often developers repackage programs and applications and bundle them together with malware. The presence of such malicious parasite will not be properly disclosed. That’s the reason why users are oblivious to the fact that they are actually installing a virus on their computer. However, if you follow our advice, you will be able to deselect any unwanted program that you deem suspicious or never even knew that you downloaded.
Browser hijackers are not exactly ‘viruses’. They affect your browser only, not the computer system. Still, they should not be underestimated and must be removed as soon as you detect their presence on your PC. There are hidden dangers behind the seemingly harmless ads that are generated by this malicious software. Often, ads and pop-ups will be displayed as exclusive deals and sales, special offers and coupons, blinking messages, fake update requests, etc.
You must not fall into this trap. Whatever you do – don’t click on them! That’s exactly what cyber criminals want you to do. Such adverts might redirect you to potentially infected sources that seek to open backdoors for other hackers. Through them, they can launch various threats like adware, spyware, worm, Trojans or even ransomware! You may be one click away from granting hackers access to personal information such as but not limited to passwords, IP addresses, credit card numbers, bank account credentials, Login Ids, etc. If you want to return to a peaceful and ad-free browsing experience, you need to remove this malicious parasite as soon as possible! Read our instructions below to find out how to do that.
