The Windows\msime.exe process is malicious. If it is running on your PC, then it is safe to say that you are infected with a nasty Trojan horse virus. It is the one that started the process. Needless to say, the Trojan must be removed ASAP. Trojan horses are the most dangerous and destructive type of cyber infection. They can do basically anything to your machine. It all depends on what the hackers behind them need and want at the moment. That’s why these parasites affect each victim individually. But they can be reprogramed.
Once in your system, Windows\msime.exe can start with one malicious process but then the hackers can command it to do something else. No matter what they decide, it will be malicious. That’s why it is called a virus. It sneaks into your PC completely behind your back. Sometimes it may be a while before you even realize it is there. If you are aware, though, do not waste your time. The Trojan must go and the sooner it is gone, the better for you and your system. If you let it stay, your predicament will continue to worsen with each passing day.
As we said, Windows\msime.exe can do whatever it wants. Following a successful installation, the Trojan doesn’t waste any time. It starts corrupting your entire PC. It alters your System registry without your permission. It adds and removes queries. It installs/uninstalls programs from your machine and prevents other from running properly. It damages important for your OS files. It does whatever it wants. However, this is not the worst part of hosting a Trojan. Mostly, these type of viruses is used for espionage. Windows\msime.exe doesn’t differentiate. If the crooks want it to spy on you, it will. It monitors your every online and offline move and records everything it can find. This may include your passwords, usernames, real name, billing address, bank account data, personally identifiable data, etc.
All of this can end up in the hands of the Trojan and after that in the hands of the cybercriminals. Can you imagine what these people may do with your data? They can use it to drain your account, to blackmail you, or they can sell it. Either way, the outcome will not be positive. You will be the one that suffers. Protect your personal information. Don’t let crooks get a hold of it. For the purpose, Windows\msime.exe must be uninstalled as soon as possible.
Let us warn you, though. The pest roots deep in your PC. If you fail to remove all of its components, it will come back. So, if you are not confident enough in your PC skills, we recommend you download a good anti-virus program to help you with the removal. If you prefer manual deletion, you are welcome to use our removal guide at the end of this article. Choose your method and act. Time is not your friend!
How did the Windows\msime.exe Trojan enter your machine? You will not like the answer but the pest got in because of you. Because of your carelessness, to be exact. The Trojan turns to the old but gold email messages to enter your PC. It travels attached to an email. That’s it. You do the rest by rushing into opening every single message that you get even if it is from an unknown sender. This is your mistake.
We have said this so many time and people are still doing it. Never open emails from people you don’t know! Don’t download their attachments. Don’t follow any links they may comprise! Always verify the sender! It is all up to you. No infiltration method is good enough to succeed without your inactive cooperation and your negligence. Do not make yourself an even easier target by being careless!
