I wrote this article to help you remove Weatherly Virus. This Weatherly Virus removal guide works for all Windows versions.
Weatherly is a program, advertised to be providing the weather forecast. Unfortunately, it does no such thing. What is actually provides is quick access to incredibly unreliable links and, from that, an even quicker access to malware. Weatherly is classified as a PUP, aka a potentially unwanted program. Unsurprisingly, the program is unwanted indeed. It was developed by cybercriminals for the single goal of helping them make profits. It goes without saying that the PUP has to be removed as soon as possible. If given enough time on your PC, it will destroy your online experience, it will expose you to malware and security risk, and it will slow down your machine`s performance. Don’t hesitate. The program was not meant to be beneficial to you. Delete it now and save yourself a ton of issues.
You are probably wondering how this PUP entered your computer. Well, like almost all infections, it turned to tricks to dupe you into giving it green light. One of these tricks is freeware/shareware bundling. All types of parasites rely on it as it is both secretive and effective. You have to pay extra attention when installing a bundle unless you want to get an infection like this as a bonus. Take your time and don’t rush the installation process. Read the Terms and Conditions carefully. Opt for the Custom settings in the Setup Wizard instead of the Basic ones because they allow you to check the entire bundle program by program as well as to delete anything that you don’t want. Caution is the key to preventing unwanted pests. This applies for other tactics as well. For example, spam email messages, shady messages in social media, third-party ads, fake updates, etc. Always be on the alert. What infections need the most is your haste, distraction, and carelessness.
As soon as Weatherly enters your machine (we will explain how does it do it later), your browsers get attacked. The PUP adds a pesky extension to Mozilla, Chrome and Internet Explorer thus injecting all of your browsers with pop-ups. You get flooded with ads all the time. And they come in all kinds of forms. Coupons, discounts, deals, offers, best prices, video ads, pop-unders, and whatever else you can think of. Every web page you try to visit is completely covered by these commercials. They pop before your eyes and block pages` content. What is worse, you cannot close them. Not with the “X” button, not with anything. However, you must not click on them either. What we didn’t mention before is that these pop-ups are sponsored and hence, unsafe. Crooks use them to boost web traffic to particular pages and gain money via the pay-per-click mechanism.
Each of your clicks on an ad fills their pockets. You unwillingly become a sponsor of hackers. You help them make money, create more infections and infect more users. However, you are also jeopardizing your safety in the process. As we said, these ads cannot be trusted. There is no doubt that some of them will lead you straight to pages brimming with pests and your single click invites said pests on your machine. Of course, there might be some perfectly safe commercials among the generated ones but there is no way of telling which is which unless you click. As we already stressed, clicking is too much of a risk and you could fill your PC with more parasites. Weatherly also redirects you to all kinds of shady websites as well. Your overall browsing experience is effectively ruined by this PUP. You are no longer able to use your machine normally.
Speaking of your machine, it is also affected by the intruded. The PUP causes it to lag, freeze and crash frequently. Your browsers crash as well. Even your Internet connection may worse all of a sudden. And like this is not more than enough, Weatherly also spies on your private data. It collects everything it can get access to and then sends it to the crooks who published it. Needless to say, these hackers are the last people who should have access to your private life. If they do, they will use your information for nothing but their malicious purposes. The real question is are you going to sit idly by while they do that, or are you going to stop them by deleting this PUP immediately. We suggest the second option. Get rid of this pest. To do so manually, use our detailed removal guide below.
