How to Remove Pest Trap (Chrome/Firefox)

I wrote this article to help you remove Pest Trap. This Pest Trap removal guide works for all Windows versions.

Have you ever come across the Pest Trap name while looking for anti-malware programs online? If you have, you probably know what this program actually does. If not, don’t let the name fool you. It may be called Pest Trap but it does nothing even remotely close to pest trapping. Unsurprisingly, it is a computer parasite, which, like the rest of this kind, are interested only in your money. Pest Trap poses as an anti-virus program, which will clean your PC from all infections. Its developers have created it to be very deceptive and misleading with only one purpose: to trick you into believing it and steal your money.

When Pest Trap arrives at its destination it performs a scan, which, in theory, should check your machine for infections. However, in reality, things are a little bit different. This scan is fake and it was never meant to be helpful to you in any way. And yet, when it has finished, the scan displays a quite long list of viruses, which it has supposedly detected. Pest Trap aims to make you believe your PC is full of all kinds of infections. Don’t worry! It`s not. Your PC is completely fine. This malevolent program will continue to show you alert messages describing your PC to be in a critical condition. All this is a scam. Pest Trap just wants to scare you enough to make you purchase its full version. Don’t let yourselves be fooled. If you make the mistake of actually buying the full version, not only you would have purchased something completely useless and dangerous but you would have supported the crooks scamming business as well. Don’t let that happen!

What you need to do is get rid of this fraudulent program. It is not only dangerous but also incredibly annoying. Flows of warning and concerning messages and pop-ups will keep coming and unless you uninstall it you will never see the end of this. There is no reason to hesitate. Procrastination will only make the situation worse. Remove the intruder as soon as you can and don’t even think about paying for the full version of this “anti-malware” tool. You will end up double-crossed and, besides, there is enough legitimate AV software, which you can rely on.

Pest Trap may have landed on your PC because you may have downloaded it without even realizing. These kinds of infections rely on deceptive techniques for their distribution. Freeware bundles, for instance. Be very careful when installing one of those because you may get more than you thought. To be sure you won`t, always choose the Advances options and be in control of what is being installed on your device. The process may take longer and annoy you a little bit, but it may also save you from some very unwelcome PC visitors. Also, always pay attention to the “Term and Conditions” of what you are downloading if you don’t want to accidentaly agree to something you are completely against. This also applies to the End User License Agreement (EULA). Last but not least, don’t forget the pop-ups, links, and spam messages. Sometimes one click is enough to lead you straight to a malware.
