I wrote this article to help you remove Homepage-web.com. This Homepage-web.com removal guide works for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer.
The Homepage-web.com is a browser hijacker, which can cause you some very irritating disturbance while surfing online. Homepage-web.com is known to be able to affect all three most popular web browsers – Internet Explorer, Mozilla, and Google Chrome, so no matter which of these you are using it can be hijacked. This browser hijacker will sneak into your system undetected but your will be able to see its presence very soon. It won`t stay hidden and will act up, making unauthorized changes to your browser settings.
For starters, it will put its own Homepage-web.com website as your default settings and time you try to change it back would be unsuccessful. The new homepage includes only a search box and standard buttons like Web, Images, etc. A strange thing is that you can see the logo of the Bing search engine as well. However, do not trust the Homepage-web.com to provide you with reliable search results. It won`t. The results will be compromised and cannot be trusted. They can put your privacy at risk and the best this you can do is to remove this hijacker from your PC as soon as possible.
Your browsers, after having been infected with Homepage-web.com, is no longer reliable and safe. Every time you use the search engine you will be presented with sponsored search results. Not the mention that you will constantly be bombarded with annoying pop-up ads which will appear on your screen no matter which website you visit. Beware, while reading this you might think that it is incredibly annoying, which it is, but it is also very dangerous. The sponsored results and the ads, if you happen to click on them, may redirect you to suspicious websites, laced with malware. If you are not careful you might end up with much more serious threat on your machine – like a devastating Trojan, for instance. Don’t voluntarily put your device at risk of such infections.
This nasty hijacker was not meant to be helpful to you in any way. It was created to make your computer vulnerable to malicious pests, which can cause you a great headache and are not something you would want to deal with. Don’t waste any time and don’t let the browser hijacker go that far. The minute you notice it take measures to get rid of it and regain control over your PC. Homepage-web.com may not be a ransomware or a Trojan, but with enough time spent on board, it can redirect you to a webpage, spreading them. You would be better off getting your previous default homepage back and having a normal safe browsing experience once again. The removal steps you need to remove the nasty hijacker you can find below. You may as well consider getting a reliable anti-malware software for your own protection.
You may also wonder how this browser hijacker landed on your PC. Usually, hijackers travel in bundles with other programs. If you think very carefully you may remember installing some application before the appearance of Homepage-web.com. If you didn’t download this app from a legitimate source there is a high chance the hijacker was bundled with it and you unwillingly gave it permission to access your system. Such apps usually ask you to allow them to make changes to your system. Read carefully everything you are asked to agree with. Take your time with the installation process, go through the Terms and Conditions. It may be time-consuming and a little annoying but it is way better to stop the threat before entering than to having to deal with it after. Your safety should always come first.
