Uninstall Zingload.com “Virus”

I wrote this article to help you remove Zingload.com. This Zingload.com removal guide is working for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Zingload.com is a search provider. According to the description in the “about” section, the platform combines the best results from Google, Yahoo, Bing and Yandex. This function sounds convenient. Zingload.com allows users to filter their searches in several categories: image, video, news and map. The website seems reliable. Security experts believe otherwise. It has been found that Zingload.com is exploited by a browser hijacker. The covert program uses the website to access the browser’s internal settings.

What threat does the Zingload.com hijacker pose to your system?

The hijacker behind Zingload.com makes unauthorized changes to the browser’s DNS settings to get a measure of control over it. The clandestine program will set your homepage and default search engine to Zingload.com. Using the website to conduct your searches will give you unreliable results. The hijacker inserts supported pages amid the regular results to your queries. They may not be safe to visit. The owners of the hijacker promote the content of all paying advertisers without running it through a security test.

The promotional campaigns aim to raise revenue. The people behind the Zingload.com hijacker make use of the pay-per-click system. This is a common monetizing method. The commissions they receive are determined by the number of user-generated clicks. The manipulated search results are not the only form of supported content. The hijacker also displays pop-up advertisements. They contain embedded links to sponsored websites. The ads come in different shapes and sizes, including banners, in-text links, coupon boxes, freebies, rebates, contextual, interstitial, floating, transitional, inline, comparison and full-page ads. Your screen will be flooded with illustrious pop-up windows.

The owners of the Zingload.com website do not account for security issues. They have published a disclaimer of warranties in their license agreement. This relieves them of responsibility for users’ security. The developers can opt not to cover liabilities because their website is only a mediator for third party content.

Another risk around the Zingload.com hijacker is having your personal information disclosed to cyber criminals. The insidious program has the ability to extract information from your web browser. It can access your browsing history, tracking cookies, IP address and geographic location. The hijacker can record the details you enter into your personal accounts, such as your name, e-mail, physical address, date of birth, telephone number, user names and passwords. The gathered input can be sold on dark markets without your knowledge or consent.

How did I contact the hijacker behind Zingload.com?

You should be familiar with the distribution vectors of the Zingload.com hijacker. This knowledge can help you prevent other malware from entering. The hijacker uses typical methods which are common for many rogue programs. The preferred distribution technique in this case is bundling. The furtive program latches onto another application. The possible hosts are freeware, shareware and pirated tools. The hijacker will be included as a bonus with the utility you have chosen to install. This option will be ticked per default. If you do not deselect it, the secluded program will be allowed into your system.

Spam e-mails are the other entry point for the hijacker behind Zingload.com. The shady program hides behind an attachment, waiting for you to open it. Accessing the file is all it takes to let the hijacker in. Malicious macros and Javascript codes can perform an installation on command prompt when a user accesses a file. You need to make sure an electronic message is legitimate before taking any further actions. Check the details from the e-mail. If the sender is representing a given company or institution, the contacts should match.
