I wrote this article to help you remove Turmeet.org. This Turmeet.org removal guide works for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Turmeet.org is a malicious domain which indicates the presence of a cyber infection on your computer. If you see the page all the time be sure that you are now a host of a nasty browser hijacker. Even though hijackers cannot compare with Trojans and ransomware pieces, they are still parasites. No parasite should be ignored and tolerated. If you don’t take immediate measures thing will quickly go out of control. Hijackers are incredibly annoying but they are also dangerous. After all, they have been created by crooks to serve their malicious purposes. Don’t be a part of this. As soon as you see the Turmeet.org page start looking for the pest`s hiding spot and when you find it, delete it once and for all. Otherwise, you will regret it very soon.
The hijacker enters your system in complete and utter silence. Once in, it wastes no time but begins with its meddling. Your browsers are its first target. Yes, all of them. It adds a pesky plugin with is perfectly compatible with Mozilla, Chrome and Internet Explorer. Now you don’t even have one reliable browser to use. They are all hijacked and your browsing experience gets hijacker alongside with them. You start noticing changes in your browser setting for which your approval was not needed. That’s right. The hijacker doesn’t need your permission to make reshuffles as it sees fit. This is why you open your preferred browser one day to see that both your homepage and search engine have been replaced with Turmeet.org. From this moment on this page appears all the time. You see it every time you open your browser or a new tab.
When you try loading another website you get redirected back to it. It is just always there. Even when you want to search for something you have to use your new search engine, which is advertised to generate safe and accurate results. As you can imagine, it doesn’t. Most of the links are very unreliable and potentially dangerous. They often lead to shady pages where you can get a malware with a single click on the wrong place. However, this is how crooks make money. They use you to generate Web traffic to particular pages and each click of your fills their pockets. This is called the pay-per-click mechanism and as long as you have the hijacker on board you are a part of it too. But this is not all.
Aside from the constant redirects to Turmeet.org and the sponsored search results, you are also bombarded with pop-ups on daily basis. Your whole screen will be covered with numerous blinking ads. Don’t think for a second that these advertisements are helpful or interesting. They are also used by crooks to make profits. The worst part is that there are some perfectly safe ads and search results but you cannot tell which is which unless you click. And then it may be too late. As mentioned, a single click is enough for a much more serious threat to infect you. When you think about it, because of the hijacker, you cannot use your machine at all. It is too much of a risk as you may infect it even more.
Your machine is already suffering because of the pest`s shenanigans. Its speed is slow, it lags all the time, it takes it forever to complete a task, etc. Moreover, your system crashes/freezes a lot more often and your previously strong Internet connection is nowhere to be found. And top it all, the hijacker jeopardizes your privacy by spying on your and sending valuable information to its crooks. It goes without saying that you may fall victim to a financial scam or even identity theft. Don’t sit around waiting for this to happen. Get rid of the parasite. To do so manually, please follow our detailed removal guide below.
And one last thing. Did you download the parasite on purpose? Of course not. The Turmeet.org doesn’t even provide a download button. And somehow it managed to get it. This means what at some point you approved its installment. That’s right. These infections need your permission and they use tricks to get it as they are completely aware they won`t get it otherwise. One of the most popular methods involves freeware/shareware bundles. The hijacker gets attached to a bundle and this is how it dupes you into downloading it. Pretty sneaky, right?
Keep in mind that hijackers are not the only infection family which relies on this technique. All infections do. So, to protect yourself always opt for the Custom/Advanced settings in the Setup Wizard. They allow you to see each program in the bundle and to deselect anything which you don’t want to get. Also, don’t skip and Terms and Conditions as you may agree to something you are totally against. If you blindly click “next” you are practically inviting the parasite on board.
Always be on the alert. Don’t forget that preventing an intruder from entering is easier than dealing with it later. All infections pray for your carelessness. Don’t grant it. Don’t make yourself an easier target. Your safety is up to you.
