Trojan Horse viruses are known to be used by hackers for a wide variety of illegal activities. Identity theft, data theft, spying on victims, causing severe damages to the point of the total destruction of the computer system – those are just a few of the things a Trojan parasite is capable of. The Trojan.BtcMine virus, however, is different. It is used by cyber criminals to turn the victim’s PC into a cryptocoin mining machine. The virus will use up most of the CPU and GPU power, plus other resources, so as to power up its malicious tasks. The main goal is to mine as much cryptocurrency as possible. Bitcoin, Monero, Darkcoin, etc. is what this Trojan Horse is after.
The thing is, this malicious process causes troubles for the users. Their computers’ overall performance will decrease abruptly, frequent crashes and lagging will be an everyday occurrence. Programs and application will fail to work as before. They will freeze and even stop working altogether. Victim’s internet connection will be slower than before too. What’s more, the virus’ effect will not stop there. We recommend not waiting for what else is going to happen because data theft will be the least of your worries. As soon as you notice these signs, the best thing you can do is to remove this virus from your computer, before it is able to damage it beyond repair.
Viruses from the Trojan Horse category are incredibly sneaky. But the good news is, if you pay close attention to what you click on while on the internet, you can save yourself from a potential cyber infection. The truth is, viruses like Trojans lurk behind spam emails and attachments, shady ads and links, fake update messages, software bundles and wait for you to make the mistake and click on them. They are very resourceful and you won’t even know that you fell into their trap until it is too late. If you want to steer clear form a potential malware infiltration, we suggest you follow our advice.
When you download software, like a free bundle, for example, always make sure you opt for Custom/Advanced mode in the Setup Wizard. This will give you the power to view the full content of the bundle. More often than not, there are hidden programs and applications that were not properly disclosed and thus the user had no knowledge of their existence. We strongly recommend deselecting any additional software that you notice. This will save you from a possible virus infection. Many users are too careless and select a Quick installation instead. This mistake will surely cost you a lot, since the virus will be able to invade without you even realizing what you have done.
Trojans are considered to be the most dangerous type of viruses out there because of their remarkable versatility and stealth. They can sneak inside your computer system undetected and will quickly take over your PC, causing more and more trouble as time passes. With this Trojan.BtcMine virus, the corruption and theft of your private data like passwords, IP addresses, bank account information, credit card numbers, various file types, and etc, will be the least of your problems.
The longer you let the virus roam free, the more ground it will be able to cover on your system, causing all kinds of trouble. At some point, your computer will be in such state that you won’t be able to do any kind of work on it at all. That’s because all of the resources will be shifted to aid the virus in its malicious plan to mine for cryptocurrency, which will lead to the overloading of the system. Do not waste time! To regain control over your PC, you need to get rid of this nasty virus ASAP.
