This page is here to help you remove Reimage PC Repair. This Reimage PC Repair removal guide is suitable for all Windows versions.
Reimage PC Repair is a potentially unwanted program, though is more accurately defined as scareware or rogue anti-malware. These programs – if contracted when browsing or downloading cause an inconvenience to clear up for experienced computer users but can lead to far more serious problems if not dealt with promptly and effectively. For this reason uninstall Reimage PC Repair Online as soon as you see it. It is one of an increasing number of similar problem programs that can cause major potential security risks to the user. In advertising, it claims to have ‘fixed’ more than 1m computers last year. It is connected to a company called softonic.com that appears to be registered in Spain. The major consensus is that the whole creation is at best a fake. This is backed-up by countless experiences from computer users in forums and blogs. As with other scareware, the tactic of Reimage PC Repair is to invent security issues; cause disruption to a system; and offer a paid-for solution to the user’s anxieties and worries. The program has rootkit capabilities that embed in the operating system of the infected computer. Then it starts an invasive and unstoppable scan and after offers to clean your system. This ‘scan’ will inevitably find a large number of errors and that the damage level is ‘serious’. The program offers to fix the situation, though the full licensed version must be purchased first. This of course is scaremongering and you should eliminate Reimage PC Repair Online if you find it in your system. DO NOT click on the ‘Start Repair’ button when it pops up – you will be redirected to one of the company’s dubious ‘sites, and if you do not buy the licensed version of the program, the disruption will increase. Along with these problems, you will also be inundated with constant pop-up ads offering unmissable great bargains!
How Did I Get Infected With Reimage PC Repair?
This kind of infection happens when freeware (such as video streaming/recording programs, PDF creators or download managers) is downloaded from a dubious ‘site and installed using the basic one-click option. This gives the user no chance to scrutinize any appended programs that are bundled with what freeware was desired (it can also come from an absent minded click on a pop-up whilst visiting a questionable ‘site or in an attachment in spam e-mail if opened). Legitimate companies offer freeware as samples and hire third parties (or download clients) to distribute the downloads. The operators who perform this service have the opportunity to create bundles of free programs that may interest a particular customer, and of course get paid for the number of ‘deliveries’ they make, perhaps by several different firms for one bundle – this is how electronic merchandising works. The problem occurs when a totally unwanted – or even harmful – program is attached. This piece of scareware is such – get rid of Reimage PC Repair as soon as it appears. Also beware of anything that looks generic: ReImage Repair, reimageplus.com, etc because these are connected, with the same aims.
What Problems Reimage PC Repair Cause?
Keeping the program on a system not only give the aggravation of the scan-scam, it also leaves you susceptible to a barrage of unwanted advertising courtesy of the browser control it exerts that will not be avoided until you have deleted Reimage PC Repair entirely. It will eventually change your toolbar (the infection is sometimes also associated with the Babylon browser-hijacker) and it makes browsing difficult without being redirected – this redirection could also take you to a compromising ‘site. While the pseudo scans are being performed, your system will suffer slowing until you completely delete the program from your system.
Like many other similar optimization scam-ware, first comes the inconvenience, though the potential threats are serious due to the fact that the program places roots in your browser controls and files. Once infected, there is a capability for the program to provide logging of information that could be used for identity theft, and possible third party remote access or a fatal system crash. Clean Reimage PC Repair as soon as it shows itself.

I still have Reimage popping up on some of my searches even after uninstall. I can’t find it running anywhere. Not on running programs on “regular” uninstall from control panel, and doesn’t show up on “c disc” or Task Manager. I even ran “FixMeStick” and it got past that too. Virus?
Hey Roy,
Try to reset your browser settings. It seems that there is some extension plugged-in and that causes the pop-ups.
Thanks,
Daniel
