PC Activator Removal

I wrote this article to help you remove PC Activator. This PC Activator removal guide works for all Windows versions.

PC Activator is an application which provides system optimization services. The tool increases the computer’s performance speed and optimizes the execution of the system processes. It can free up memory and disk space on the hard drive. If you have utilities in need of repair, PC Activator will fix them. The program works to improve the Internet accessibility and enhance the level of protection. Using PC Activator should make your browsing experience faster and more secure. If you encounter problems, you can contact the 24/7 technical support. Chances are that you will have a lot of issues. Security experts have filed PC Activator under the potentially unwanted program (PUP) folder. The software exhibits behavior which contradicts its presentation.

PC Activator is available for download on its official website, pcactivator.com. There is an orange download button on the homepage. The executable of the tool is called PCActivator.exe. If you have not acquired the program, you were a victim of a scheme. The PUP uses underhanded propagation vectors which make its installation seamless. The preferred distribution technique is bundling. The furtive program travels with freeware, shareware and pirated utilities. The download client adds PC Activator as a bonus. You have to read the installation agreement to find the option and deselect it. Always take the time to check what kind of terms you are accepting.

The other way for PC Activator to trick its way into your computer is through a spam email. Spam campaigns are as vast as ever. Every day, millions of bogus messages are sent to random accounts. Among the usual pamphlets, there are hidden infections. The snake in the grass is waiting for you to reach out to grab a file, so that it can strike. Yes, opening the host file can be enough to transfer the covert tool to your system. The PUP will be downloaded to a certain folder and installed through a background process. You need to filter your messages. The best indication about the reliability of a given letter is the sender’s email address. If the person has written on behalf of an organization, he should have used an internal email account. You can go to the official website of the corresponding entity for reference.

The PC Activator Virus

Upon getting installed to your system, PC Activator will start bombarding you with advertisements. The purpose of the adverts is to score clicks. Since the shady tool is free to use, this is how it raises proceeds for its owners. The PUP is ad-supported. It embeds external links into the windows. They redirect to sponsored websites. Every time a user follows a supported link, the creators of the PUP receive a certain payment for the promotional service. This monetizing technique is used by many agents. It is known as the pay-per-click system. While the international legislation has deemed this practice legal, there are strict regulations surrounding it. To begin with, the advertising party has to disclose the sources for the ads. The main requirement, however, is to confirm their reliability.

Imagine catching a virus from a faulty website you were taken to. This could happen. PC Activator does not scan the platforms it forwards to. The owners of the PUP agree to promote the content of every paying party. The clandestine program does not disclose the sources for the ads. The windows focus on promoting shopping deals. The listed items are of high quality, yet low in price. If you find this suspicious, you have a valid argument. When the numbers do not add up, there may be a string attached. If you do a double-take, you will realize that the advertisements do not provide a source. Following them would be at your own discretion. We do not advise users to take unnecessary risks. Every window could contain a link to a malicious domain. For your own sake, pass on the offers.

The security threats do not end with the advertisements. PC Activator also has tracking capabilities. The PUP is set to gather input from the web browser. The furtive program can record your browsing history, tracking cookies and country of origin. Apart from statistical data, PC Activator will collect sensitive information, like your IP address, email account, telephone number, physical location and keystrokes. The owners of the PUP can sell the gathered details on darknet markets without asking users for permission or notifying them. The company has formulated an end user license agreement (EULA) and a privacy policy which allow them to disclaim responsibility for security compromises. The software is a product of AB eCommerce Inc., a Canadian company. Rather than accepting their terms of use, you should remove the program from your machine.
