Potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) are something you wouldn’t want to deal with. MyPc Backup is exactly that, a PUP with capabilities like those of an adware and it is a serious threat. It not only messes with your machine but it also invades your privacy. Of course, at first, the PUP tries to fool you by making promises it would never keep. Everybody would want a program which could keep their files safe by creating backups. Nowadays, backups are a must if you want to feel safer from cyber threats. This is exactly what MyPc Backup is advertised to do, but it doesn’t.
It is neither useful nor helpful to you in any way. On the contrary, it is a deceptive program, which goes out of its way to convince you to trust it. But, don’t forget it is created by cybercriminals and cybercriminals` only purpose is to take advantage of you in any way possible. Don’t believe even for a second that the program will come in handy. What you need to do is remove it at the very beginning and don’t give it anytime to evolve on your machine. Because, believe me, if you don’t, you are about to face some both extremely annoying and dangerous issues.
MyPc Backup gets into your system unnoticed but, once it is in there, you just can`t miss its presence. It does not stay hidden, on the contrary, it acts up and based on its actions it must be pretty easy for you to realize it a fraudulent tool. Right after it has arrived it starts messing with your computer and meddling with your settings. It starts bombarding your browser with non-stopping annoying pop-up ads, redirects you to shady looking pages.
Also, it makes changes without your permission, like replacing your default homepage, search engine or toolbar. If you are infected, you know how this can drive you mad. If not, you can imagine how irritating it must be when you feel that you no longer have complete control over your own PC. And yet, not matter how infuriating all of this is, we can say that it is harmless. However, the same doesn’t apply to privacy, which is at risk. This PUP is programmed to spy on you and your browsing experience and to keep track of everything.
Then, when it has enough sensitive information, it sends it to its developers. Of course, no one knows who these people are, but based on the program they have created, it seems like they are not the trustworthy type. For all we know, they are crooks and their intentions about your data are unknown and highly questionable. Even if you are the calmest person in the world the annoying meddling wound bother you, your privacy safety for sure would. You have to do your best to stay safe while online, and you absolutely can`t sit and watch while MyPc Backup is raging out in your system.
You are probably wondering how a nasty parasite like that one landed on your PC. Most of this programs need you to give them your permission, unwillingly, of course. They use all kinds of rogue tactics to make you give them green light. This is exactly how MyPc Backup arrives as well. It uses malicious spam email attachments, freeware, fake updates or compromised links.
For instance, the PUP is bundled with another program and when downloading it you end up with MyPc Backup too. Or, another example, it poses to be a Java update to trick you into downloading it and then it reveals its true self. Always be cautious and keep in mind that online space can be very dangerous.
