Trojan viruses are considered to be the most feared cyber threats out there. They are known to be very sneaky and can be used by hackers to do all kind of damages. Versatility and stealth – that’s probably Trojan Horses’ most dangerous traits. They can be used as a means to infect the victim’s computer with other malicious software like worms, ransomware, hijackers, adware or spyware.
Lockapp.exe is an example of such a nasty Trojan parasite. It is more than capable of modifying the Registry, corrupting important system processes or files and many other malicious tasks. Through this virus, cyber criminals can also get their hands on the private data of the victim, like passwords, IP addresses, Login ID, bank account credentials, credit card numbers, browsing history, search queries, as well as various file types like documents, photos or executable files. What’s more, if you have fallen victim to the Lockapp.exe Trojan, it is very possible that you can be spied on by hackers, both virtually and physically. Via this virus, cyber criminals can see everything you do on the internet. They can also be able to hear you and see your every move through your web camera and microphone.
There are many ways for a Trojan virus to infect your PC. The most common means of distribution include software bundling, fake update requests, dubious links and ads, corrupted torrent files, as well as spam email messages and email attachments or executable files. If you want to be safe from a potential Trojan infection, there are some things we can advise you to do. If you need to update software on your computer, it is best not to trust a random pop-up alert that you need to follow a link, in order to update a program or application on your PC. More often than not, such update messages are fake. Instead, you should rely on licensed and official sources only.
Furthermore, if you happen to download software from the internet, and more specifically – free bundles, there is something you should be aware of. It is very common for developers to repackage programs and apps along with malware. Of course, they do not properly disclose the malicious software’s presence. That’s why users are left wondering how the virus got on their computer. What we suggest you do, is to opt for a Custom/Advanced type of installation. This way, you can view the full content of what you are about to install on your computer, and will be able to deselect any additional software that seems suspicious or you never even intended to download in the first place.
Trojan Horse viruses can severely damage your computer. The thing is, once they’ve infiltrated your PC, there is no way of knowing exactly when they will attack. It might take a while before they activate and start wreaking havoc. But when they do, you will notice that something is wrong. Your overall PC performance will suddenly decrease, you might even experience a slow internet connection. What’s more, your programs and applications will start crashing or stop working altogether. Some victims might even experience a high CPU and GPU usage for no apparent reason.
The longer you let this virus do its thing, the worse the implications will get. That’s why you need to remove this Loackapp.exe Trojan from your computer as soon as possible! If you don’t, you will not only lose valuable information but may also get the blue screen of death.
