Adware is a malicious software, that is programmed to flood the victim’s web screen with numerous intrusive advertisements. For each click that the user makes on such ads, the parasite will get paid. To raise its chance of success, adware will monitor the victim’s online activity and collect data like browsing habits, surfing history and search results, to provide targeted content that the user is more likely to click on. Often, such ads will promote exclusive deals, special offers, or personalized coupons and discounts.

This parasite can also generate shady pop-ups, blinking alert messages and fake update requests. The appearance of the Advisurf page is a clear sign that your browser has been infected by such menace. To have adware on your computer is a serious breach in your security and privacy. Your situation will get worse if you do not act against it in time.

Many users blindly trust everything they see online. Expecting that every link will lead you to secure sources is a mistake. It will take just one click for you to unconsciously install malicious software on your PC. Adware is very sneaky. We also highly recommend following a Custom installation when possible. This action will make any hidden software visible to you, and thus eliminating any possibility of unknowingly installing dangerous content on your computer.

If you think that you’ll be safe from danger, as long as you do not click on any of the ads displayed by the parasite, you are mistaken. Adware will only change its tactics and become more and more aggressive until it fulfills its malicious task. Even going Incognito when browsing the web will not save you. The malware will be able to monitor your online activity regardless of that.

If you do not get rid of it in time, it can manage to get its hands on valuable information such as but not limited to passwords, credit card numbers, bank accounts, IP addresses, etc. Such data can bring them profit, once they share it with other questionable third-parties. And that’s not all.

The effect of this dangerous pest on your browser can be severe. Slow internet and lagging will just be the beginning. The threat is real. And if you do not heed our warning, your web browser can get so badly damaged that you won’t be able to use it at all. In order to go back to a normal, secure and ad-free browsing experience, you need to remove the Advisurf adware ASAP!

Advisurf Virus Uninstall

Before starting the real removal process, you must reboot in Safe Mode. If you are familiar with this task, skip the instructions below and proceed to Step 2. If you do not know how to do it, here is how to reboot in Safe mode:

For Windows 98, XP, Millenium and 7:
Reboot your computer. When the first screen of information appears, start repeatedly pressing F8 key. Then choose Safe Mode With Networking from the options.

For Windows 8/8.1
Click the Start button, next click Control Panel —> System and Security —> Administrative Tools —> System Configuration.‌

Check the Safe Boot option and click OK. Click Restart when asked.
For Windows 10
Open the Start menu and click or tap on the Power button.

While keeping the Shift key pressed, click or tap on Restart.

Here are the steps you must perform to remove the hijacker from the browser:

Remove From Mozilla Firefox:

Open Firefox, click on top-right corner , click Add-ons, hit Extensions next.

Look for suspicious or unknown extensions, remove them all.

Remove From Chrome:

Open Chrome, click chrome menu icon at the top-right corner —>More Tools —> Extensions. There, identify the malware and select chrome-trash-icon(Remove).

Remove From Internet Explorer:
Open IE, then click IE gear icon on the top-right corner —> Manage Add-ons.

Find the malicious add-on. Remove it by pressing Disable.

Right click on the browser’s shortcut, then click Properties. Remove everything after the .exe” in the Target box.

Open Control Panel by holding the Win Key and R together. Write appwiz.cpl in the field, then click OK.

Here, find any program you had no intention to install and uninstall it.

Run the Task Manager by right clicking on the Taskbar and choosing Start Task Manager.

Look carefully at the file names and descriptions of the running processes. If you find any suspicious one, search on Google for its name, or contact me directly to identify it. If you find a malware process, right-click on it and choose End task.

Open MS Config by holding the Win Key and R together. Type msconfig and hit Enter.

Go to the Startup tab and Uncheck entries that have “Unknown” as Manufacturer.
