“Powered by Qweuirtksd”, “Brought to you by Qweuirtksd”, “Ads by Qweuirtksd” – does it sound familiar? You might have seen this text on the advertisements displayed every time you open your browser. Promotions generated by Qweuirtksd are not reliable! They appear due to a malicious software present on your PC. A PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program), to be exact.
Do not trust such promotions and abstain from clicking on them. Chances are, you might get redirected to unreliable pages that may infect your device with malicious software. But don’t go ignoring the problem altogether. The parasite’s actions will only get more and more aggressive as time goes by, so you must remove it before it is able to do damages beyond your control. It is possible for the parasite to steal personal and financial data from you. Not to mention how damaging it will be for your web browser, should you prolong the PUP’s stay on your computer.
Normally, a PUP can sneak on your computer without your knowledge. If you’re too naive and careless, it would be easy for crooks to trick you into unknowingly installing it on your PC. This often happens when you open spam email attachments or executable files. It can also happen when you click on questionable links, or when you install software on your computer under the quick setup mode.
In the latter, you won’t be able to view any hidden optional installations, unless you select a Custom/Advanced type if installation. This way, all additional software will be visible for you to opt out of. Fake updates are known to appear as alert pop-ups on your screen. Don’t rush into unnecessary actions. And, most importantly, don’t blindly trust such random notifications. It is very possible that they may redirect you to infected websites. We recommend relying on official and licensed sources, to get your software updates.
Don’t let the name of this parasite fool you. Nothing about your situation is potential. If you choose to ignore our warning, not only will your web browser suffer the consequences, but you also risk exposing sensitive information like passwords, IP addresses, bank accounts, credit card numbers and more, to hackers. They will not let such an opportunity pass them by. Hackers find such data very valuable since they can share it with other questionable third-parties for profit. But that’s not all.
Precisely because of this PUP, your browser is not sluggish. All of the shady ads it is made to display will soon be its downfall. Not only will it start to crash and freeze on a regular basis, but it could also stop working entirely. If you want to regain control over your web browser and secure your online presence, you need to be fast. Do not waste more time, and remove the Qweuirtksd PUP from your computer.
