I wrote this article to help you remove OnlineGuard. This OnlineGuard removal guide works for all Windows versions.
OnlineGuard is a program that promises computer users to protect their systems against any Internet-based infections. Nevertheless, this is practically not possible, especially when considering the fact that the application has been classified as a potentially unwanted and ad-supported program. Having in mind this classification, you should know that OnlineGuard is more likely to attract various threats to your system, instead of blocking their way in.
Besides, OnlineGuard will flood your web browser with tones of commercial advertisements which will definitely disturb your daily browsing sessions. Based on all the aforementioned, you should remove OnlineGuard from your PC without any consideration.
OnlineGuard usually infiltrates your computer with the help of some other free programs which have been advertised on third-party sharing websites. These programs are bundled with a bunch of other free applications that are offered for installation as additional software. For that reason, you should never forget to read all the provided information by the setup wizard very carefully. In this way you will get the opportunity to opt out the additionally offered applications. If you skip this option, a bunch of useless programs will get installed on your machine, including OnlineGuard, which might cause you security-related problems.
In case OnlineGuard is already present on your PC, your online performance and Internet connection might slow down significantly. However, what is even worse is the fact that as OnlineGuard is supposed to be a security tool, you might be provided with fake scan results claiming that certain threats are present on your computer.
Still, the main problem is that the advertisements generated by OnlineGuard might belong to the program’s affiliates who are unknown and might as well include cyber crooks. Therefore, if you interact with any of the provided commercials might lead to infecting your PC with malware. In order to avoid this from happening, you’d better uninstall from your system OnlineGuard right away.
Fortunately, the OnlineGuard removal process is not hard at all. The program could be removed either manually, or automatically. If you prefer the manual removal, you can follow the provided instructions bellow. Though, even after you have completed this process, you have to run a full scan of your PC to make sure that there are no other existing threats on it. If such threats are detected, the antimalware program will delete them entirely and will safeguard your system against malware in the future.
