I wrote this article to help you remove MSSECSVC2.0 Ransomware. This MSSECSVC2.0 Ransomware removal guide works for all Windows versions.

Have you had to deal with a ransomware infection before? If not, prepare for tons of troubles as MSSECSVC2.0 is a classic member of this dreaded family. It was created for the single purpose of bringing revenue to its developers and its way to do so is pretty clever. As a virus, MSSECSVC2.0 sneaks into your machine undetected and, once in, it doesn’t waste time. The first thing the ransomware does is to perform a scan of your PC searching for private files.

Unfortunately, what ransomware looks for it usually finds real quick and then encrypts everything with a strong encryption mechanism. When we say everything, we actually mean everything. Your pictures, files, videos, music, MS Office documents, presentations, etc. become inaccessible to your as the infection changes their formats. Your machine is no longer able to read them and you cannot open any of them.

You probably have some very important data stored on your machine and it is now among the locked one. Like, some work-related information. The problem is that, no matter what you do, your files remain locked. In a situation like this, it is very easy for you to panic. However, do your best not to because this is what crooks pray for. They want you to give into anxiety as, this way, it would be much easier for them to convince you to comply with their demands. Unsurprisingly, the hackers demand money.

Once the encryption process is over, the ransomware drops a message for you. Aka, the ransom note. The note provides detailed payment instructions and states that if you want to free your data, you have to purchase a special decryption key. The crooks promise to send it to you when the transaction is complete. Think very carefully of what you are going to do. Before even consider paying up, look at the facts. For starters, you cannot trust cybercriminals to keep their end of the bargain. There are zero guarantees that they will deliver. Second, you cannot be sure if the tool they are going to send you (if they send it to you) is the right one. It may not work or it may only word for a small number of files.

Third, even if you receive what you paid for and decrypt your data, you still have the ransomware to deal with. It remains on your machine as the decryptor does not affect it. This means that your files can get re-encrypted hours later. And forth, by paying you are not only sponsoring the illegitimate ransomware industry but you are also giving hackers access to your personal and financial information. And all of this for nothing. There is no scenario in which you come out as a winner. For all you know, you will be left with less money and still locked data. Forget about paying these people and do the right thing. Find where the ransomware is hiding and remove it from your machine. To do so manually, use our removal guide at the end of this article. And a piece of advice for the future: always create backups of your most precious data. This way you could safely recover it once the infection is out of your system.

How to keep ransomware away? These infections travel the web via the usual tactics. These include malicious spam email messages, torrents, fake updates, freeware, corrupted pages, exploit kits, Trojan horses, etc. But most importantly, hackers pray for victims` negligence to succeed. You see, MSSECSVC2.0 is still a program and it needs your permission on its installments. That`s why it uses the above-mentioned tactics: to trick you into giving it green light without knowing what you are agreeing to.

Be more vigilant online. If you don’t pay attention, you are making yourself an even easier target. Prevention is the key. It is much better and easier that dealing with a pest which is already harassing you. Do your due diligence and don’t grant your haste, distraction, and carelessness. Be cautious and doubting. You are the only one who can protect your machine.
