I wrote this article to help you remove JZip Virus. This JZip Virus removal guide works for all Windows versions.
JZip is a free tool that is promoted as a useful and reliable engine that works with various file formats. In reality, it is a malicious software that wants to turn your browser into an ad-displaying tool. Malware researchers categorize this utility as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program). But don’t let the name fool you. There is nothing potential about it. It is more than capable of turning your normal browsing into a hellish experience.
The PUP will flood your screen with all sort of ads. Be it pop-ups, in-text, banners, blinking alert messages, every page you visit will be covered with advertisements. Even a video that you watch online will be interrupted by adverts. There is no escape from them. Unless you decide to do something about this nasty malware and proceed with its immediate removal.
The JZip PUP cannot hack its way on your computer. It needs your permission to do that. It will use tricks and will strongly rely on your naivety and carelessness to sneak on your PC. The most common places such parasite lurks are spam emails, email attachments and executable files, software bundles, infected links and pop-ups, fake utility ads, fake update requests, etc. When you’ve downloaded software from the internet, the next step you should take is opting for a Custom/Advanced installation process. This will enable you to view the full contents of what you’ve downloaded, Look out for any hidden software.
If you notice any additional programs and applications, it is best to deselect them, since they most likely are malicious software in disguise. Also, don’t be too quick to trust random pop-ups that promote questionable utilities or update links. If you need to update or download software, always rely on official and licensed sources.
What exactly is the purpose of the advertisements? To create income via the pay-per-click method for the hackers and the sites it promotes. What’s more, the shown ads and pop-ups may lead to questionable sources. Don’t be surprised if you get redirected to shady websites. It is not uncommon for such ad content to reroute to infected places. This way, cyber criminals can use a backdoor and launch nasty infections on your computer. That’s why we do not recommend clicking on any ads that are shown.
True, not every ad will be infected, but there is no way of knowing which advertisements are legitimate and which are not. Always think twice before clicking on anything you see online. If an ad or pop-up seems too good to be true, it probably is. Don’t fall into the trap set by criminals. They will do anything to get their hands on your personal information. To make sure your private data remains private, we suggest getting rid of this PUP as soon as possible, as it poses a risk to your online security.
