How to Remove Iqoption.com (Chrome/Edge/Firefox)

I wrote this article to help you remove Iqoption.com. This Iqoption.com removal guide works for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer.

The Iqoption.com platform offers a free application for binary options trading. The main website is located at the domain address eu.iqoption.com. According to the disclosure provided, the domain is regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). The analytic software is a product of IQOption Europe Ltd., a company with headquarters in Limassol, Cyprus. The program follows the stock markets in 28 different countries. For the user’s convenience, it is available in 13 languages: English, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, Italian, German, Japanese, French, Russian, Swedish, Turkish and Thai. The application is available for download from the Apple App Store, the Google Play Store and the homepage of eu.iqoption.com. Users who are interested in the services can register an account on the website for free.

Though the application behind Iqoption.com has reportedly been approved by the CySEC, security experts have a different opinion on the program. They have categorized it as adware. Research has revealed that the software conducts a number of unauthorized tasks which are unrelated to its stated functionality. The first activity we will address is the display of advertisements. The adware behind Iqoption.com generates ads to promote shopping deals. While the listed offers may be enticing, their reliability is under question. The shady tool does not disclose the sources behind the ads. Any given window could redirect you to a compromised domain and get your computer infected with malware.

The adware behind Iqoption.com uses marketing tricks to attract people’s attention. It decorates the adverts with colorful patterns, flash animations, cursive fonts and other visual effects. The secluded program focuses on bargain deals to get users interested in the offerings. Perhaps the most effective tactic of the adware is to relate the suggestions to the user’s activity. The covert tool will gather data from your surfing sessions. Your history can reveal your interests and your preferences. The adware will proceed to show you offers for items you have recently looked up or purchased online.

This leads us to the other unauthorized activity the adware behind Iqoption.com conducts. The rogue program collects different types of information from web browsers. This includes the search history, keystrokes, tracking cookies, IP address, email, geographic location, physical registration, telephone number, user names, passwords, financial details and other sensitive input. The gathered data can be sold on darknet markets without the user’s knowledge or consent. Cyber criminals can purchase your financial credentials and your personally identifiable information (PII). They can extort your savings and open credit accounts on your behalf to withdraw more money.

To protect your machine from threats like the Iqoption.com adware, you need to know how they are spread. Although the program is made available publicly, it uses dark patterns to increase its rate of distribution. The most common trick in the book is bundling. The shady program often travels with pirated utilities, freeware and shareware. The download client will list the additional tool as a bonus. The option for extra software is included in the terms and conditions. If you skip reading them, you could allow a malicious program to get installed to your system without realizing it. Of course, you should be careful about the applications you choose to add to your device. Do your research to make sure they are considered reliable.

The other propagation vector the adware behind Iqoption.com uses is spam emails. The sinister tool will be hidden behind an attachment, listed as an important document. The sender will describe the attachment as an urgent notice which needs your immediate attention. The quicker you act, the less likely you are to think it through. Opening the host file would transfer the contained program to your computer. Before accessing an attachment, you need to make sure the sender is who he claims to be. Check his email address. In a lot of cases, spammers misrepresent existing entities, like the national post, courier firms, banks, institutions, government branches and legislative organizations. You can visit the official website of the corresponding entity for reference.
