I wrote this article to help you remove Cpk.exe Virus. This Cpk.exe Virus removal guide works for all Windows versions.
Cpk.exe belongs to the family of potentially unwanted programs, aka PUPs. Given the fact that you are reading this removal guide, we assume you are forced to deal with this pest. Luckily, we have some good news for you. This PUP is not that hard to remove. You could have been infected with a much more serious parasite. Like a ransomware, for instance. However, do not underestimate Cpk.exe. It is still a virus and the threats it poses should not be ignored. Like any other infection, the more time Cpk.exe spends on your machine, the more problems it will cause. As soon as you realize you have it on board, you must take measures and delete it. The sooner, the better.
Cpk.exe was created with the single purpose of bringing revenue to its owners. How does it do so? It relies on the pay-per-click method. It bombards you with advertisements and links and every time you click on one, the crooks gain profit. Basically, by hosting this infection you are becoming their sponsor. Each of your clicks fills their pockets. But there is more. You get buried with so many ads and so often that at some point your previously normal browsing experience changes. You are no longer able to surf the web at peace as you are constantly interrupted by commercials. Or redirected to shady pages. But do you notice anything out of the ordinary with these ads? Do they look like they have been selected for you and you alone? The answer is “yes, they have been”.
Cpk.exe has to generate as many clicks as it can and it doesn’t leave anything to chance. It shows you advertisements which it knows you will like. How? It is able to spy on your personal information. This includes IPs, email addresses, usernames, accounts, browser-related data (history, results, queries, etc.). Then, the pest uses this information to display only ads that you will find appealing. This way it guarantees that you will be at least tempted to click. Don’t fall into that trap. Be smarter. All of this is a scam. Don’t click anything thrown to you by this intruder.
You don’t want to help hackers make money and expand their “business”, do you? And most importantly, you surely don’t want to invite more infections on your computer. But if you click this is exactly what you will do. Most of these ads are sponsored and dangerous. They can easily lead you to compromised pages where you could download parasites from. Or, they can conceal threats themselves. Either way, a single click, on purpose or by accidents, equals your permission to download more viruses. Your PC is already infected and underperforming because of Cpk.exe. The last thing you need is more malware.
What you really need is to remove Cpk.exe ASAP. Don’t put up with its shenanigans and don’t expose your privacy to danger. Use our removal guide below and get rid of Cpk.exe in a few simple steps. Once you do, make sure to protect your machine better in the future. Do you know how Cpk.exe entered this time? It tricked you. The program needed your approval to get in and, at some point, you gave it because you have been distracted. Yes, you carelessness is the reason you are currently dealing with this pest. But don’t be too harsh on yourself. Cpk.exe did ask for permission but it did so in the sneakiest way possible – in a bundle.
Bundling is one of the most popular infiltration tactics. It is both secretive and efficient and this is why hackers use it so much. They easily attach their product to a bundle and then you do the rest by rushing the installation process and not paying attention. This is the worst possible tactic. You have to be vigilant. Next time you download something from the Internet, take your time. Opt for the Advanced/Custom settings in the Setup Wizard instead of the Basic ones. This way you will be able to check the entire bundle program by program as well as to deselect anything that you don’t want entering your machine. Negligence is what all infections need the most. Don’t grant it. Don’t help crooks by being careless and making yourself an even easier target.
