I wrote this article to help you remove “Security error: This website requires Google chrome security plugin”. This “Security error: This website requires Google chrome security plugin” removal guide works for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer.
If you see the “Security error: This website requires Google chrome security plugin” alert message, we have bad news for you. Your machine is currently a host of a cyber infection. A browser hijacker, to be exact. What do you know about hijackers? Most people are only aware of the fact that these infections are incredibly annoying and perfectly capable of destroying your browsing activity. And this is true. However, what is more important is what they don’t know about hijacker. Of course, there is more.
These pests are so much more than just obnoxious and irritating. If given enough time on your machine, the hijacker you are stuck with will eventually go out of control and then things will get ugly. That’s why it is crucial to take immediate actions. Think of the “Security error: This website requires Google chrome security plugin” message as a warning sign. As soon as you see it, accept that your PC is infected and start looking for a way out. Otherwise, the issues are going to keep piling up.
Hijackers are very sneaky and deceptive. They enter your machine in silence and proceed to wreck it. Even though you cannot notice the exact moment of the pest`s entering, once it is in, you cannot miss its presence. The hijacker goes after your browsers first. It adds a pesky plugin which is compatible with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer. As a result from this add-on, you don’t even have one reliable browser to use. They are all infected and forced to serves hackers` purposes. You are not in charge anymore. The infection messes with your browsers` settings without any authorization of yours. It replaces your previous homepage and search engine with a brand new malicious domain. From this moment on, your online experience changes significantly.
You cannot find anything you are looking for online. You are constantly redirected to shady websites. Whenever you try loading a page you end up visiting another suspicious one instead. And this is not all. Aside from that, you are also bombarded with a never-ending pile of countless advertisements. Ads in all forms and shapes cover your screen all the time. Discounts, coupons, pop-ups, deals, offers, best prices, video ads, and so on and so forth. You cannot get rid of them. Not with the “X” button, not with anything. You can imagine what it would be like surfing the web in such conditions. It is practically impossible. Suffering endless intrusions anytime you open your browser is now what we call pleasant online experience. It is the exact opposite. It is a nightmare.
Needless to say, you have to stay away from everything the hijacker throws at you. The chances are it is dangerous and if you click on the wrong link/ad/page, you automatically download more infections. The last thing you need is to compromise your machine even more. It is already underperforming. It lags, it freezes and crashes frequently. At some point, you will even get to the conclusion that not using your PC at all is the better option. And like all of this isn’t enough, the hijacker jeopardizes your privacy by spying on you and threatening to expose everything to the crooks behind it. Don’t allow this. Use our removal guide below and get rid of the hijacker for good.
As we already mentioned, this virus is very sneaky. It uses tricks to enter your machine because it needs your permission. Without it, it cannot get it. One of the most popular infiltration methods is freeware bundling. Crooks often attach an infection to a bundle and if you are not careful enough you install in on your PC. This is why you have to be careful. Always opt for the Customized settings instead of the Basic ones. This way you have full control over the installment.
Also, never skip the Terms and Conditions/EULA if you don’t want to agree to something you are completely against. Rushing the process only helps crooks. Don’t be negligent. This is what infections pray for. Other methods a hijacker can use to slither it are spam email messages and malicious attachments, corrupted pages/links/torrents, malicious third-party pop-ups, etc. There are many ways for infections to trick you but without your haste and distraction, it cannot succeed. So, don’t provide them.

Hi Daniel,
Tried all of the method above. Finally I reset my PC to factory settings yesterday. But just got redirected to the security error page while browsing a different website.
Things I noticed –
Till I get connected to this network there were no issues.
All 7 machines in my network have same problem.
Have tried every step you said above in all of the machines. Not found any application in task manager that might be suspicious.
Removing all files from user/appdata/local/—–(Associated web browsers) helped for few hours but the problem was back again in all machines.
All of the machines are suffering from huge performance lags.
Scanned machine with mac afee & windows defender but no help.
Downloaded the spyhunter as well to scan. It scanned for few threats but it was available on purchase & after a short google search I found the software itself to be malicious so I uninstalled it.
All the machines are running on win 10
Please help.
Hey Himanshu,
Do you connect to Internet via wireless router? There is a chance that the router’s config is altered by malware and thus all your traffic is redirected to these bogus pages with the warning. Please, let me know if you use a wireless router and if yes what model it is.
Thanks,
Daniel

Hey Chandan,
Can you try to reset the routers? You can try this if you know how to configure them properly with your ISP.
You should search for a small, really tiny black button at the back of the router. Please press it and hold it for 10 seconds. This will reset the router to its factory settings.
Thanks,
Daniel

Even I tried all the options mentioned above. It didn’t work at all. I have reset my wireless router too. My s/m worked fine for a day. The error is back from the second day onwards.
Is there a permanent solution to this “Security Error”?
Thanks in Advance

Hey Surya,
The fact that this message disappeared after you reset the router makes me think that indeed it was affected. Can you please search online for a firmware update for your model? And if there is an update, please update it! Maybe this can close the security hole.

Daniel
