I wrote this article to help you remove Qtipr.com. This Qtipr.com removal guide works for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer.

If you are constantly seeing the Qtipr.com website you are in trouble. You have fallen victim to a nasty browser hijacker, which, if given the time, will wreck your machine. Hijackers are, above all else, incredibly annoying. But they are also dangerous. If you don’t take measures on time, problems will escalate so fast you won`t even notice. It is clear that a hijacker cannot be compared with a ransomware or a Trojan, but you absolutely must not ignore the threat is poses both to your machine and your privacy.

Aside from messing with your browsing, which is the annoying part, the parasite puts your privacy at risk. From the second it lands on your PC it starts spying on you and monitoring your every move. It has access to everything: IPs, email addresses, accounts, passwords, usernames, browser-related data, etc. And if you are particularly unlucky it may even get its hand on your financial and identifiable details. From this moment on the Qtipr.com page becomes your online shadow. You see it all the time and you get redirected back to it every time you try loading another site.

Also, your previous search engine is gone and if you want to surf the Web you are forced to use your new one. Beware. This engine generates results but they are far from being accurate and safe. They are sponsored and used by crooks to boost web traffic to particular sites so they can make profits. But their profits come at your expense. Just by keeping the hijacker you are sponsoring hackers AND you are one click away from more malware infections. Some of these links lead you straight to shady pages laced with threats which you can get with a single click. And yet, there is more. The hijacker also bombards you with tons of commercials. Your screen is covered with ads all the time. Pop-ups, pop-unders, banners, deals, video ads, coupons, offers, best prices and many others will be blinking before your eyes and preventing you from using your PC normally. It goes without saying that the ads are just as dangerous as the links and the redirects.

They also hide threats. You have to stay away from everything the hijacker throws your way unless you want to infect your already compromised PC even more. It is already very slow, it underperforms, it crashes, and it cannot stabilize the Internet connection. The last thing you need is to have more pests on board while you are still struggling to remove this one. As you can see, the hijacker makes your browsing experience dangerous and impossible to enjoy. And when you add to that the above-mentioned privacy risk, you have no reason whatsoever to procrastinate anymore. Once you delete it, make sure you won`t allow another infection. First, get a good anti-malware program. And second, don’t ever be careless again. This is how the hijacker infected you this time. It tried to trick and it succeeded because you were distracted. How? Infections use tactics to fool you. Take freeware bundles, for instance. To stay safe, always choose the Advanced settings in the Setup Wizard. Carefully go through every program and if any looks suspicious deselect it immediately.

Also, don’t skip the Terms and Conditions. You may agree to something you are completely against. What infections need the most is your negligence. And not only with bundles software but with other tactics as well. Those include spam emails, fake updates, corrupted links/pages/torrents, third party ads, unverified download sources, etc. Always be on the alert. It is up to you to keep your machine and your privacy intact.

Qtipr.com Removal

Before starting the real removal process, you must reboot in Safe Mode. If you know how to do this, skip the instructions below and proceed to Step 2. If you do not know how to do it, here is how to reboot in Safe mode:

For Windows 98, XP, Millenium and 7:
Reboot your computer. When the first screen of information appears, start repeatedly pressing F8 key. Then choose Safe Mode With Networking from the options.

For Windows 8/8.1
Click the Start button, next click Control Panel —> System and Security —> Administrative Tools —> System Configuration.‌

Check the Safe Boot option and click OK. Click Restart when asked.
For Windows 10
Open the Start menu and click or tap on the Power button.

While keeping the Shift key pressed, click or tap on Restart.

Please, follow the steps precisely to remove Qtipr.com from the browser:

Remove From Mozilla Firefox:

Open Firefox, click on top-right corner , click Add-ons, hit Extensions next.

Look for suspicious or unknown extensions, remove them all.

Remove From Chrome:

Open Chrome, click chrome menu icon at the top-right corner —>More Tools —> Extensions. There, identify the malware and select chrome-trash-icon(Remove).

Remove From Internet Explorer:
Open IE, then click IE gear icon on the top-right corner —> Manage Add-ons.

Find the malicious add-on. Remove it by pressing Disable.

Right click on the browser’s shortcut, then click Properties. Remove everything after the .exe” in the Target box.

Open Control Panel by holding the Win Key and R together. Write appwiz.cpl in the field, then click OK.

Here, find any program you had no intention to install and uninstall it.

Run the Task Manager by right clicking on the Taskbar and choosing Start Task Manager.

Look carefully at the file names and descriptions of the running processes. If you find any suspicious one, search on Google for its name, or contact me directly to identify it. If you find a malware process, right-click on it and choose End task.

Open MS Config by holding the Win Key and R together. Type msconfig and hit Enter.

Go in the Startup tab and Uncheck entries that have “Unknown” as Manufacturer.
