I wrote this article to help you remove Taboola. This Taboola removal guide works for all Windows versions.
Have you heard of potentially unwanted programs (PUPs)? Taboola falls exactly into their category. It is advertised as a helpful tool which will improve your online experience but what it actually delivers is very different. The program disturbs you on daily basis. It is incredibly irritating and obnoxious but it also poses risks. Infections like these go out of control very quickly and then they become harder to get rid of. That’s why it is important to act fast.
As soon as you spot this pest take measures to delete it. It was never meant to be helpful to you in any way. What it was created for is to help crooks make money. They use it to boost traffic on specific pages so they could gain revenue via the pay-per-click mechanism. But their revenue comes only at your expense. Do you want to be a part of the cybercriminals business? We highly doubt it. Delete the parasite on the spot. Not to mention that there are many other issues you will be forced to deal with because of the PUP`s presence.
After successfully entering your system, the first thing Taboola does is to infect all of your browsers. It adds to them a pesky plugin, which works perfectly with Mozilla, Chrome and Internet Explorer. This means and you don’t even have one reliable browser anymore. They are all injected with useless annoying pop-up commercials. Not any kind of commercials but sponsored ones. This is how web traffic is being generated. Sponsored links are incredibly unreliable. They can lead you to all kinds of suspicious and harmful pages, where you can get countless infections from. The problems is that aside from the sponsored ads the PUP generates perfectly safe links too. And you cannot tell which are which. Not unless you click and if you happen to click on the wrong ad, you get infected. You can compromise your PC even more with just a couple of wrong clicks. And next time you may get a much more dangerous parasite.
Imagine if you get stuck with a Trojan or a ransomware. You have to do your best to stay away from anything Taboola throws your way. This will be hard, though, given the fact that the ads are covering your whole screen every time you open your browser. They are constantly blinking before your eyes. Also, some of them may even look helpful or interesting. Don’t fall into that trap. If the ads look like that, it is because the crooks wanted them to do so. Be careful. Using your machine while having the pest on board is not safe at all. You may accidentally click on something and it would matter. You would still get infected. And the pop-ups are not your only problem.
The PUP also redirects you anytime you visit a page. Or, should we say, attempt to visit. This way, instead of checking your mailbox you end up on a shady looking page, which is probably laced with malware. Do you now see how keeping the tool does nothing good? And there is more. Taboola also spies on you and gathers valuable information, which it sends to the crooks behind it. It poses a direct threat to your privacy. Do you know what could happen if your financial or identifiable data falls into the crooks` hands? You may fall victim to a financial scam or even an identity theft. Act while it is not too late. Use our removal guide and delete the unwanted guest once and for all.
But do you know how you got infected? Do you know how these infections travel the Web? Well, bundled software is one of the most efficient methods. Especially if you tend do download it from unverified sources and then skip most of the installation process. You have to pay attention the whole time. Also, you should opt for the Advanced settings instead of the Basic ones when installing a program. They take more time but also give you the opportunity to deselect any program you don’t want from the bundle.
The Terms and Conditions are also a must. If you skip them and just blindly press “I agree”, you are risking agreeing to something you are totally against. Remember that your carelessness is what all infections pray for so, don’t provide it. Be more vigilant and protect your machine.
