The main purpose of JS/ProxyChanger.BW is to spread malware. The covert program uses computers to create a botnet for distributing viruses. Hackers can access your machine from their servers and use the Trojan to transfer infections to remote devices. The renegade developers can transmit spyware to the host device, as well. Trojans spread different types of infections. Ransomware and keyloggers are the most common clients.

Ransomware, also known as win-lockers, are file encryption software. They use an algorithm to lock files. The victim is required to pay a ransom for the decryption key or software. This type of infection targets most file types, leaving only the essential system data intact. Keyloggers monitor users’ online sessions, collecting information from the web browser. They can record the browsing history, tracking cookies, keystrokes, IP address, geographic location, zip code, demographic details, physical address, date of birth, email, telephone number, fax, user names, passwords, PIN codes and other personal and financial data. The gathered information can be used to break into your accounts. The hackers behind JS/ProxyChanger.BW have two alternatives to choose from.
