I wrote this article to help you remove Wizzcaster. This Wizzcaster removal guide is working for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Wizzcaster is an adware program. It targets the web browser. The rogue tool can infect the three most common web browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge. Wizzcaster carries out aggressive advertising campaigns. It will flood your screen with pop-up ads, promoting bargain offers for various consumer goods. The deals the adware suggests can be fake. The windows could lead you to corrupted websites, spreading malware. You can never be certain about the reliability of a given ad which is why we advise you to avoid them.
What dangers does Wizzcaster involve?
The adware supports websites with unconfirmed security. Wizzcaster does not bother to run a scan of the platforms it promotes. The windows the shady tool displays contain embedded links to third party websites. They may or may not be reliable shopping platforms. Clicking on an ad means taking a risk. We advise you to discard the unsolicited offers.
Wizzcaster is known to generate different kinds of advertisements, like pop-ups, pop-unders, banners, in-text links, coupon boxes, freebies, comparison, interstitial, floating, contextual, inline, transitional and full-page ads. You can tell if an ad comes from Wizzcaster by checking if it has a label attached to it. The adware flags each ad with a phrase like “Ads by Wizzcaster”, “Brought to you by Wizzcaster”, “Powered by Wizzcaster” and others.
The second major issue with Wizzcaster is connected to personal security. The furtive program has the ability to track your sessions and record data from your browser. Once installed, the adware will have instant access to the information your browser stores by default. This includes the type and version of your operating system and web browser, the computer’s IP address, your geographic location, tracking cookies and browsing history. The secluded program can record the information you enter into search fields and personal accounts. The gathered data will be traded on dark markets without your consent.
How did Wizzcaster get installed to my computer?
The official website of Wizzcaster is wizzcaster.com. If you load the domain’s URL address, you will be asked to submit your login details. If you try to create an account on the website, you will find that this is not possible. The interface of the domain is just a cover-up for its real purpose. Wizzcaster.com allows the adware to generate advertisements. The insidious tool is distributed through other sources. Freeware and shareware programs are the usual hosts for Wizzcaster. The adware’s setup wizard gets bundled with them. When performing the install, you have to check for extra tools and deselect them.
The other host for Wizzcaster are spam emails. The clandestine program is attributed to hiding behind attached files, described as documents. The spammer composes a fake message on behalf of a reliable company or entity, like the national post, a courier firm, a bank, a government institution or the police department. You have to proof the contacts, listed in the email, to check whether the sender is who he claims to be. Do not open any files before doing your due diligence.
