Safe Finder “Virus” Uninstall

I wrote this article to help you remove Safe Finder. This Safe Finder removal guide is working for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Safe Finder is a metasearch engine. The website is registered to the domain search.safefinder.com. At first glance, the platform looks like an ordinary search engine. It has a standard user interface, a basic set of functions and options. The website has been accommodated to meet the demands of users from different parts of the globe. Safe Finder supports 25 languages: English, French, Chinese (traditional), Chinese (simplified), Japanese, Korean, German, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Portuguese, Hindi, Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Danish, Romanian, Polish, Dutch, Turkish, Thai and Vietnamese. The normal appearance of the platform does not match its technological properties. It has been discovered that Safe Finder accommodates a browser hijacker which can cause you problems.

What issues is Safe Finder associated to?

Using Safe Finder to conduct your searches is not advised. The hijacker can mislead you and take you to harmful websites. The furtive program makes changes by adding supported websites in the search result pages. The inserted websites are not chosen to match your queries. The malicious tool forwards them your way because it gets paid to. The proprietors of the hijacker receive commissions to support third party content. The websites they promote are not guaranteed to be reliable. Any bogus result can contain an infection. Be advised that you cannot reset your browser and use a secure search engine as long as the hijacker is present on your system. The program will keep on changing your settings back.

The hijacker resets the homepage and default search engine to search.safefinder.com and prevents the user from changing these settings. The website has a malicious code which enables the rogue program to gain a certain measure of control over the browser. Apart from manipulating the search results, the clandestine program can lead you to malicious websites through advertisements. The hijacker displays shopping ads in various formats, including pop-ups, pop-unders, banners, in-text links, coupon boxes, freebies, floating, interstitial, contextual, transitional, inline, comparison and full-page ads. There is no guarantee about the reliability of the offers.

The owners of Safe Finder have assured themselves they would not be sought responsible for people’s security issues. The websites includes a disclaimer, listed in the terms of use section. According to the agreement, the owners of the platform do not cover liabilities or warranties. Safe Finder belongs to an entity called Linkury. The coordinates and the legal status of the company are not disclosed. The only form of contact, provided on the website, is a mailing form.

The privacy policy of Safe Finder has also been devised to the benefit of its developers. The terms set forth relieve the proprietors of the website from responsibility. Users are not entitled to compensation for any problems, regarding their personal security. The hijacker can lead to a lot of issues by stealing your personal and financial details. The malevolent program can track your browsing sessions, record the input you have entered into your online accounts and the private details your browser stores. This encompasses your history, IP address, email, country of origin, user names, passwords and other data.

How is the Safe Finder hijacker distributed?

There are a couple of ways to contact the Safe Finder hijacker. The preferred entry point for the covert program are bundles. The hijacker often travels with freeware, shareware and pirated versions of paid software. The furtive tool would be listed as a bonus app, offered for free with the main program from the bundle. You should never accept to have extra software installed. If there is such an offer, deselect the additional program. You would not be missing out, even if it is a legitimate tool.

Spam email attachments are the other propagation vector the hijacker behind Safe Finder utilizes. The covert program travels secluded with a host which can be a text document, an image, a zipped folder, an archive or another file type. Opening the carrier would prompt the download and subsequent install of the hijacker. Make sure your in-box messages are reliable before trusting them.
