The Fortpush.com notifications that pop-up on your browser are not trustworthy. Their sudden appearance indicates an adware presence on your device. The sooner you realize this, the better. All of your browsers will be affected – Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, Microsoft Edge. No application is immune. Once the parasite establishes itself, it will turn your web browsers into ad-displaying tools.
All sorts of advertisements will flood your screen. Most of them are known to promote exclusive deals, special offers, discounts, etc. And, you’ll find that the sponsored content will be very appealing to you. That’s because the adware pest aims to produce specifically targeted adverts that you’ll be more likely to click on. Each click you make will generate profit to the creators of the adware, and the pages it will promote. To raise its chance of success, the malicious software will spy on your online activity and collect data like browsing history and searches.
But how did this pesky parasite manage to sneak on your computer? You need to know that adware is not able to hack its way in. The only way for it to get access is if you install it yourself. This often happens without you even realizing it. It can be something as simple as a click on a shady ad or link, or choosing a Quick type of installation. Other ways to get your device infected with adware are via spam emails, torrent files and fake updates.
If you’re being careless and don’t pay attention to what you do online, it would be very easy to fall into a trap set by hackers. They thrive thanks to your naivety. Learn to read the fine print and think twice before clicking on that ‘I Agree’ button. When possible, install under the custom setup mode and make sure to deselect any additional software, since that’s how malware is being able to slip unnoticed on your machine.
Adware is no harmless software. It is capable of severely damaging your web browser, by making it weak, slow and unreliable. Every day you’ll get swarmed with more and more questionable advertisements that may lead to dangerous sources. An adware-related parasite is a total breach in your privacy. Your sensitive information like passwords, credit card numbers, etc. can easily get obtained by hackers, who seek to take advantage of your poor situation.
Don’t let the criminals win! Remove the harmful software and regain control over your web browsers! Only by getting rid of the parasite will you put an end to the non-stop advert attacks and the constant monitoring of your online activity.
