I wrote this article to help you remove Minerd.exe. This Minerd.exe removal guide works for all Windows versions.
Minerd.exe is a malicious process which should not be running on your Task Manager. If it is, then you should know that your machine is infected with the worst and most dangerous type of virus, namely a Trojan horse. The Trojan is the one which started the process. This sentence alone should make you realize just how dangerous the situation you are in is. Trojans are vicious and this particular one is even more dangerous.
Aside from all the damage, a regular Trojan can cause you, Minerd.exe is also a coin miner. This, of course, doesn’t mean that mining cryptocurrency is all it does. No, this is an additional feature. All the other malicious tasks it performs remain as well. Do yourself a favor and get rid of this intruder as soon as possible. If you don’t, you will find yourself in a horrible situation sooner than you think. Find where the virus is lurking and remove it before it is too late.
The Minerd.exe uses your machine to mine cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Monero, DarkNetCoin, etc. Basically, it forces your machine to perform accounting services for a coin platform. In exchange, your PC gets rewarded with coins. However, you are not the one who receives these coins. No, they go straight to the digital wallet of the cybercriminals behind Minerd.exe. You are just the means to an end.
The coin mining process is very sophisticated and it requires a lot of resources. You provide them. The Minerd.exe consumes all your PC resources as well as your CPU and GPU. It uses them non-stop at very high temperatures which, of course, is very bad for your hardware. It shortens its life significantly. But that it not all.
The Trojan also uses a lot of electrical power. A lot! Do not be surprised if at the end of the month your electricity bill is twice as high. You have the Minerd.exe to blame for that. Also, if your cooling system is not powerful enough, all of this power, which turns into heat, may cause your machine to overheat and crash down for good. That’s why the hackers are using your machine and your resources.
The coin mining process is only profitable if you don’t use your own computer. The question is are you going to let these people exploit you like that? Are you going to pay the price of them becoming rich? Do not do that. Do not let them take advantage and ruin your machine. Find where this nasty Trojan is hiding and remove it on the spot. Once you do, everything will get back to normal. Follow our removal guide below and clean your PC. Your future self will be very grateful.
How did you get stuck with Minerd.exe? Trojans, just like all other infections, cannot enter your PC without your approval. They need to be installed. However, if a pest like this asks for your consent openly, you would not think twice to reject it. That’s why these pests turn to tricks in order to dupe you. They rely on sneaky methods like freeware and shareware bundles, spam email messages, corrupted links, fake program or system updates, third-party ads, illegitimate torrents, etc.
If you are negligent and don’t pay attention to what you click on and what you agree to, you end up infecting your own machine. Be more careful. No tactic is good enough to work without your carelessness but all of them will succeed if you provide it. Be smart and always on the alert. You are responsible for keeping your computer infection-free.
