I wrote this article to help you remove Taskhostw.exe. This Taskhostw.exe removal guide works for all Windows versions.
Taskhostw.exe is a malicious process started by the worst possible type of cyber virus – a Trojan horse. Yes, there is a Trojan in your system. Not just a Trojan, though, but a coin miner. You must have heard about the new trend of mining digital currency like Bitcoin and Monero. If you haven`t, prepare yourself. This virus has all the features other Trojans have plus one more. It is able to use your machine to dig coins.
However, you are not the one who gets the coins. Of course, not. They go straight to the digital wallet of the cybercriminals behind Taskhostw.exe. You are just their helper. They use you to get what they want. Needless to say, if you don’t take immediate measures, your machine won`t be able to hold on for too long. The Trojan is slowly but surely demolishing your computer. It shortens its life significantly. The only way to stop it is to remove it completely.
A simple reboot of your system won`t be enough. Taskhostw.exe roots deeply in your OS and loads alongside with it. Its removal is complicated. If you are not confident in your PC skills, we recommend that you use a good anti-malware app to help you.
Let`s talk more about the coin mining process. Basically, the hackers are using your recourses to get what they want. The Trojan is using your CPU and GPU all the time. It also takes a lot of memory. So, do not be surprised if your machine suddenly becomes very unresponsive and sluggish. That’s because it is being used for something else. The coin mining process requires a lot of resources and power. Electrical power. You may find out that your electrical bill has doubled or even tripled because of it.
Also, all this electricity produces heat. A lot of heat. And heat is not good for your hardware. If your cooling system is not powerful and efficient enough, your computer may overheat and crash completely. The Trojan and the hackers do not care though. They don’t stop running your CPU at very high temperatures. Keep in mind that your machine won`t be able to take this for long. Sooner or later it will break down and all the data you have stored on it will get lost.
Do yourself a favor and end it as soon as possible. Do not be the one who sponsors hackers. They are using you and your machine. Otherwise, their business won`t be profitable. Using their own computers and resources is not as lucrative as when they use yours. Don’t let them. Do your best to delete the Trojan before it is too late. With every second the virus spends on board, the worse your predicament gets. Act! Delays lead to regrets!
How did the Trojan manage to infect you? Like any other cyber infection, this one also has its ways. In fact, it can choose from a lot of methods but the good old spam emails are Trojans` favorite. Hackers attach the Trojan to a message which they disguise to look like a legitimate one. They often use the names and logos of famous companies, post offices, or even the police. Do not rush into opening everything you get. Enter the email address of the sender into a search engine and see the results.
Also, if the email claims to be from a company, compare the two addresses when you visit the company` official webpage. If they don’t match, you know what to do. Delete the spam immediately. Do not make hackers` job easier by being negligent. Negligence leads to infections. Vigilance keeps you safe.
