I wrote this article to help you remove Sensearch Virus. This Sensearch Virus removal guide works for all Windows versions.
Sensearch is a program which promises to enhance the overall browsing experience. The tool should improve your search results and make finding information on the web more convenient. If you are looking for a way to boost your browsing efficiency, you should not rely on Sensearch to assist you for this purpose. The tool has been categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) by security experts. The reason being that it conducts unauthorized tasks on the background. Not only are they disruptive, but they are also dangerous. The PUP will expose you to security risks without you even realizing it. Do not neglect the gravity of the situation. Rogue programs like Sensearch can cause more damage than you would expect.
Sensearch displays advertisements in great amounts. It will flood your screen with banners, coupon boxes, in-text link, freebies, transitional, interstitial, floating, contextual, inline, comparison and video ads. To produce them, the PUP exerts system resources. This will reflect negatively on your computer’s performance. It will become sluggish and often freeze. Their appearance will interrupt you all the time. The inconveniences are more than anything a sign that there is an underlying threat. Sensearch is a deceptive program. It tries to distract people and make them believe that the advertisements are brought as a service. This is not the case.
In terms of content, the ads contain shopping offers. The listed deals are low-priced. Discounts and other exclusives are often promoted. The product palette encompasses clothes, accessories, furniture, decorations, technological devices, gardening equipment, sports gear, games, toys and other items. There is a catch. Sensearch does not scan the web to find shopping listings. The ads lead to certain websites whose developers pay to have their content featured. The owners of the shady tool receive commissions for the promotional service. They get paid for every registered click. This method is called the pay-per-click system. The problem is that the PUP does not scan the sources sites before bringing them to the end user. People are thus exposed to a security risk.
Apart from the obvious, Sensearch performs a task on the background. The clandestine tool monitors users’ browsing sessions and collects different kinds of information from their browsing client. This encompasses their history, cookies, keystrokes, IP address, geographic location, demographic details, email account, telephone number, fax, user names, passwords and financial credentials. The owners of the PUP sell the gathered input on darknet markets. They do not ask people for approval to track their online activity and collect information on them. The only way to prevent Sensearch from spying on you is to uninstall it from your computer.
It is important to know how infections are spread. Knowing how a program like Sensearch has entered your system can help you take measures against future attacks. The most common way to transfer a secluded program is through another piece of software. The host can be an unlicensed program, like freeware, shareware or a pirated copy of a paid utility. Its setup file will contain the executable of the PUP. When you launch the wizard, you will have the option to accept the additional tool or deselect it. The option for an extra program will be included in the end user license agreement (EULA). However, it may only be listed in the advanced or custom mode. Make sure you select this mode.
The next most common distribution technique is spam emails. Sensearch can be transferred by a file with the help of a macro of script. The sender will describe the attached file as an important document from a reputable entity, like the national post, the local police department, a courier firm, a bank, an institution, a government branch, a social network or an online shop. You can check whether a given email is genuine by looking up the available contacts. The final propagation vector we need to address is drive-by installations. A website can transfer the PUP to your system when entered. You need to be careful about the sources you trust on the web. Do your research if necessary.
