I wrote this article to help you remove Mobifoth Virus. This Mobifoth Virus removal guide works for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Mobifoth is an adware program. As the term reveals, the activity of these tools is focused around ads. The shady program will show you shopping offers for various kinds of items in the attempt to get you interested. The ads contain links to third party websites. The developers of Mobifoth do not guarantee the reliability of the sponsored content. Thus, the advertising activity is problematic. However, this is not where the issues end. The adware also has a tracking function. It is set to monitor users’ browsing sessions and collect information on them. This starts from statistical input and extends to personally identifiable information (PII). The gathered details can be used for criminal purposes.

Mobifoth is spread through underhanded techniques. In most cases, the covert program is contacted through other software. Pirated utilities, freeware and shareware are the most common hosts. They carry the executable of Mobifoth merged with their own. When you launch the setup wizard of the download client, you will have a chance to detect the unwanted program and deselect it. The adware will be included as a bonus tool in the installation options. This is why we advise users to spare some time for reviewing the end user license agreement (EULA). This could be decisive. To be on the safe side, it is best to avoid unlicensed software in general.

Mobifoth can also be spread through spam emails. When spreading malware through a campaign, the sender packs the payload of the rogue program into a file. The attachment can be a text document, a zipped folder, a compressed archive or an image. The message will forward to the appendix, stating that it is an important document. In many cases, spammers write on behalf of legitimate entities, like the national post, courier firms, banks, government branches, institutions and social networks. To tell whether a given message is genuine, proof the available contacts. If the letter is written on behalf of a certain organization, the coordinates should match.

As we already mentioned, the activity of Mobifoth is focused around ads. This is because supported advertising is the main monetizing technique for the adware. The owners of the sinister tool receive commissions for promoting third party content. They use the pay-per-click system to collaborate as advertising agents. Every click on a sponsored link adds a certain amount to the total payment. Since users do not pay to receive shopping deals, their security is not a priority. Mobifoth does not scan the third party websites before linking them. This places the entire burden of the security risk on the end user. Any given ad could take you to a corrupted website and get your system infected with malware.

Mobifoth displays advertisements in different formats, including pop-ups, pop-unders, in-text links, freebies, coupon boxes, inline, floating, transitional, comparison, interstitial and contextual ads. They will be flagged with labels like “Ads by Mobifoth”, “Brought to you by Mobifoth” and “Powered by Mobifoth”. Look for the indicative sign on the upper or lower part of the window. The adware has a defined strategy for the advertising campaigns. It focuses on bargain deals and items which match or relate to the products the targeted user has searched for. If you were shopping for clothes, the furtive tool will show you offers for the types of clothing you were looking for, as well as other garments.

The other source of income for the owners of the adware is information. Mobifoth is set to monitor your browsing sessions and record all the data your browser stores. This encompasses your surfing history, IP address, geographic location, area code, cookies, keystrokes, demographic profile, email account, telephone number, fax, user names, passwords and financial details. The developers of the adware can collect and sell your personal input without asking for permission to tamper with it. The only way to protect your privacy is by uninstalling the clandestine program from your computer.
